Coming in 2014: Cellcom Children’s Edible Garden @ Central Library
Plans are underway to fund the construction, landscaping and implementation of a Children’s Edible Garden whose purpose is to enhance education for children of all ages and socio-economic status. This project will revive an under-utilized space (the former Central Library plaza) and provide a hands-on learning environment that will support and reinforce literacy and learning.
Cellcom, Prevea Health and Festival Foods jump-started the project by donating a total of $25,000. This and supplemental cash and in-kind donations led to the removal of the hardscape and the purchase of an ornamental fence to be installed in early 2014.
Additional donations are needed to bring the garden to life.
Contact Library Director Lynn Stainbrook at 920-448-5810 for more information or mail your donation to Brown County Library Children’s Garden, 515 Pine Street, Green Bay, WI 54301.
